Wes Craven’s überpopular “Scream” horror franchise, which helped launch Canadian actress Neve Campbell to fame in 1996, is heading to the small screen.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, MTV is working on developing the “Scream” film for television, but there is no confirmation on whether Craven and original screenwriter Kevin Williamson will play a part.

But the bigger question is: Will the original star be back?

Campbell was game to return for all three “Scream” sequels, but admitted that the fourth film, which was released in 2011, “wasn’t an easy shoot.” Despite this, she told Entertainment Weekly she would be willing to return for a fifth installment. Whether or not that enthusiasm extends to a television adaptation of “Scream” is still uncertain.

A trailer for Neve’s new movie, Singularity, has beem released yesterday. The movie will premiere in Cannes, next month.

Plot: After a dangerous dive to save his wife Laura (Neve Campbell) trapped while exploring a colonial British merchant ship wreckage, Jay Fennel (Josh Hartnett), a rugged and attractive marine archaeologist lies brain dead in a Boston hospital.

Fennel’s dream-like coma takes us back in time to Pune, India in 1778. The British East India Company is invading the palaces and a young captain named James Stewart (Josh Hartnett), who bears a striking resemblance to Fennel, is about to embark on a dangerous mission. Along the way he encounters murder, deceit, betrayal and revenge. He falls deeply in love with a Maratha warrior named Tulaja Naik (Bipasha Basu), an impossible love which he must fight for. Only the power of a ring can transcend time and save a life.

Unless I’m pretty blind, Neve isn’t featured on this trailer.

This week it just popped up a notice about Poppy Montgomery (star of CBS’s Unforgettable) will be producing “Sworn to Silence”, a Lifetime original film that could become serialized by the network.

The film will star Neve Campbell, who worked with Montgomery in 1996 for “Party of Five.” Montgomery found the book, written by Linda Castillo, and developed and pitched the show to Lifetime along with her producing partner, Barbara Lieberman. Campbell will also be listed as an executive producer.

Taking place in a Amish farming community in Ohio, the film follows Kate Burkholder (Campbell), a young woman who survived after a series of people were brutally murdered in the town. Unable to shake her fears, she left the community, only to return 15 years later as Chief of Police.

It sounds like an interesting project!

Troubled UK-Australian co-production Singularity may be set for further filming later this year.

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu, who appears in the film, recently told the Indian media that she had spoken to director Roland Joffé and further filming was set for April. Contrarian Tax Unit’s Brett Thornquest, who is assisting the administrators, confirmed that some shooting is planned to take place in the UK, followed by final post-production. Outstanding creditors will then be paid.

About 90 per cent of Singularity has already been filmed according to sources except for the ‘modern’ section of the tale, which follows marine biologist Jay Fennel (Josh Hartnett) who undertakes a near-fatal dive to save his wife (played by Neve Campbell) while exploring an 18th century merchant ship wreckage. He then envisions India in 1778 where British captain James Stewart (also played by Hartnett) is about to embark on a dangerous mission while falling in love with a beautiful palace guard (Basu). The film was initially shot in Australia in late-2010 before moving to India for the second leg of shooting in early-2011.

We’ve seen some rumours lately regarding Neve’s pregnany, but I didn’t wanted to post until some big entertainment site confirmed it even if looking at her most recent pictures – like this one below – that wasn’t really necessary.

Neve’s rep confirmed today to PEOPLE that she’s expecting her first child! Baby daddy is British actor and Captain America thesp J.J. Feild, whom Neve has been dating since last year.

Congratulations, Neve!
